In choreography, period costumes change everything. When choreographing Romeo and Juliet, I have to think not only about what the body can do, but what the costume allows, resists, reveals, or conceals.

Rehearsal asks so much of us. It asks us to be available, flexible, focused, vulnerable, patient, and precise—often all at the same time. It asks us to try things before we fully understand them, to receive notes without collapsing, to repeat something until it becomes honest, and to stay open even when we feel tired, uncertain, or exposed.

This summer, I am absolutely thrilled to be choreographing for a production of Romeo and Juliet directed by the incredibly talented director, Toma Enache.
